Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is in a Brooklyn federal jail awaiting his trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

After Combs’ arrest on Sept. 16, viral posts about singer Pink deleting her posts on X, formerly Twitter, began circulating online. The posts suggested Pink’s decision to wipe her account was connected to the Diddy case.

“Looks like she deleted over 4K tweets in an attempt to hide her involvement with Diddy,” one person wrote in a viral X post shared on Sept. 22

WHAT WE FOUND

Pink did not delete her posts on X after Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Sept. 16, as viral posts claim. The singer decided to leave the social media platform in February 2024, more than seven months before Combs’ arrest.

According to an Australian news outlet, Pink posted the following message to X on Feb. 6, 2024: “This account will self destruct in two minutes. Do it!!!!”

She confirmed her decision to leave X two days later on the Australian radio show Carrie & Tommy

“I feel free. Yes, I’m done. I’ve had so many beautiful experiences on Twitter and so many wonderful connections that I would never have had otherwise, but that is not what Twitter is anymore,” she said during the Feb. 8 interview with the radio hosts.

During the interview, the singer cited negative impacts on her mental health as one of the reasons behind leaving the platform.

Pink’s X account is still visible on the platform, but only two reposts are visible.

In a post addressing the rumors about her alleged social media cleanse following Combs’ arrest, Pink shared a screenshot of her Feb. 6 X post to her Instagram account on Sept. 25. She posted the same message on her official Facebook page

“I don’t know why I became a headline this week, but I wiped my Twitter account on February 6!!! There is no truth to the rumors spread this week, and while I’ve met people in passing, I’m not associated with any of the people mentioned,” Pink wrote in the posts.

Pink’s Instagram and Facebook accounts remain active.
