Trevin Smith is a video journalist and filmmaker based in New York City. His work focuses on character driven, deeply reported storytelling. Having cooked for a decade in Italian kitchens throughout California, Trevin now utilizes the lessons he learned under the many chefs he cooked for in the stories he tells. Prior to joining Verify, Trevin worked as the video fellow for McClatchy's politics desk, where he produced digital video content for the company's 30 news outlets.
Trevin earned an M.S. in journalism at Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism in 2020 and can often be found lugging cameras across Manhattan.
